Regular readers of our blog may wonder why we have gone a bit quiet of late. Well, that’s partly because the Orchestra does indeed have a quiet patch in its usually hectic diary. We’re not actually a full-time Orchestra so there is some down time sometimes. However, while we have been quiet performance-wise the office has been a hive of activity. Our Education Department has been busy organising ‘string-club’ sessions and a series of forthcoming schools concerts, over in Marketing we’ve been putting our first week of performances at Kings Place on sale, producing the brochure for it and arranging mailings etc, and the Projects team have been beavering away working out travel arrangement for forthcoming tours, finalising rehearsal schedules and administering the launch of the second year of our Melgaard Young Conductor Scheme.
